    55Typical coatings include:
    66
7  * Parylene - a more expensive coating and typically used by defense contractors for mission critical components. Parylene conformal coating is a unique type of coating applied through vapor phase deposition. It provides excellent dielectric strength and superior resistance to solvents and extreme temperatures. Because of the vapor deposition method, parylene can be applied very thin and still provide excellent circuit board protection. Removal for rework is very difficult, requiring abrasion techniques, and without access to vapor phase deposition equipment, recoating with parylene is impossible.
8  * Humiseal - a good general purpose coating, about half the cost of Parylene
9   * Humiseal 1B73 AR - Acrylic conformal coating, provides fair elasticity and general protection. It is a one‐part system, so it is easy to apply and remove. Acrylic conformal coatings are recognized for their high dielectric strength, abrasion resistance and ease of removal.
7 * Acrylic (Humiseal IB73) - is a good general purpose coating, about half the cost of Parylene. It provides fair elasticity and general protection. It is a one‐part system, so it is easy to apply and remove. Acrylic conformal coatings are recognized for their high dielectric strength, abrasion resistance and ease of removal. They also have good moisture resistance as well. They are not typically used in applications requiring a high level of chemical and solvent resistance.
