Indoor Venice and Ventana Enclosures

Installation Instructions

• Heatsink
  • The enclosures are designed to heatsink the processor on the SBC to the metal enclosure for better heat dissipation. This is optional and a choice of the customer. The enclosure is supplied with a solid aluminum block. To use this, remove any heatsink currently on the processor (heatsink removal instructions) and replace with the aluminum block heatsink as shown in the picture below:

• Mounting SBC
  • Remove front plate of enclosure and pull out bottom plate that has standoffs on it.
  • Place the board 'upside down' on the standoffs and screw in 4 screws as shown below
  • 
  • Remove front plate of enclosure and slide in bottom plate and board as shown below:

  • Re-attach front plate and see the final product:

Din Rail Clip

The Ventana, Newport, and Venice Indoor enclosures can be fitted with a DIN Rail clip.

Two holes have been slightly punched to allow for customer drilling.

Screws to mount to enclosure are DIN74-Am4 which means a 90Deg countersink, with 4mm Metric screw. These can be seen here: ​Example Screw

Drill bit size: 11/64th or #18 drill bit

Newport Indoor Enclosures

• The Newport Indoor Enclosures are built slightly taller to accomodate the fansink that is on the Newport SBCs. Additionally the side plates have holes for venting / cooling.

Waterproof (IP6x) & Hazardous Enclosures / Third Party Enclosures

Abtech manufactures off the shelf enclosures that can be used in outdoor and hazardous locations.

• The Zag models are popular and can be customized with cutouts for SMA, Ethernet and other connectors. Abtech also makes enclosures suitable for hazardous locations that are Explosion Proof and meet Intrinsic Safety standards. All are ATEX and IECEx compliant and many carry global certifications including EAC, InMetro and North American approvals for USA, Class 1 Div 2 and Canada, Class 1 Zone 2.

Labels & Customizing

Gateworks understands there are times when a custom labeled enclosure is needed.

The following options exist:

• Remove the top plate that shows the Gateworks logo and flip it around so the back side shows and the Gateworks logo can't be seen
• Have a custom made label with adhesive backing custom made and place on top of the Gateworks logo (read more below)
• Contact Gateworks Sales Team directly to have a custom enclosure made with your company logo. This usually requires a minimum of at least 100 pieces and will require a setup fee, typically starting around $450 but could vary.

Custom Adhesive Label

There are scenarios where a label / sticker can be applied to the standard Gateworks indoor enclosures for company branding.

In the past, Gateworks customers have used labels with the following properties:

• Label Material: Textured Polycarbonate Laminate - scratch resistant, scuff resistance and UV resistance.
• Adhesive: Permanent Adhesive
• Thickness: 6mil (.006 inch) total
• Corners: Square, NON-Rounded
• Size: Measured to fit on top panel of enclosures. Size will vary depending on enclosure size, taken into account the corner pieces.
