== Range

The 802.11ah !HaLow standard was made for long-range communication.

Long range roughly meaning 1km, or 1000m at 100 kbps. (Max calculated range is around 15km)

The GW16167 uses the Morse Micro MM8108 Module.

See this Morse Micro Youtube video showing ranges up to 16km: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBMgZah2Z7g]

However, range is going to depend on many things:
 * Channel bandwidth used (1mhz will go further than 8mhz)
  * Throughput: Throughput amounts will vary based on MCS rate (signal strength) and channel bandwidth used. See various tables on this wiki page for bandwith estimates based on MCS and channel bandwidth. (TCP vs UDP can also factor in)
 * Environment - How many obstructions are there? Is it clear line of site? Are there hills, and trees, buildings, etc?
 * Interference - how many other devices in the 900mhz spectrum are near by causing noise.
 * Antenna - The amount of gain on the antenna, the antenna height, and antenna placement will all affect range
 * Transmit Power - the radio transmit power varies based on MCS rate. The GW16170 has slightly higher transmit power than the GW16167.
