    v48 v49
14931493When a board is powered on, the GSC will draw power from the primary power supply and not it's coincell battery.

1495 However, when the board sits on a shelf with no Vin applied, the GSC is still running its application and consuming very little power such that the battery should last approximately 3.8 years. This approximation will vary based on environmental conditions such as temperature. (see [http://dev.gateworks.com/datasheets/AAA4000CE25.pdf datasheet]).

14971497Care should be taken that the board is stored in a way that the battery case (which is the + side of the battery) does not come in contact with a conductive path to ground on the board as doing so would not only drain the battery but if this conduction path persists for ~8 seconds or more it would put the GSC into 'reset' where its current path (even after the battery short is removed) is higher than normal. This is the same scenario described above in the Battery replacement section and can be resolved by powering the board on at least once to get the GSC out of reset.
