Discrete Neural Processing Unit
A Discrete Neural Processing Unit, or DNPU, is a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that is separate from the main CPU and has it's own memory. Thus, it can often have much higher performance than a standard NPU.
A standard Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is integrated into the CPU such as the i.MX8M Plus or i.MX95 NPU (see here).
An example of a DNPU is the Gateworks GW16168 M.2 Card.
